Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available working for a global healthcare organisation looking to grow their External Affairs team. The Government Affairs Manager will be involved in key projects throughout the business whilst managing and leading the Government Affairs function. This is a business critical role responsible for optimising the operating environment for the business and will require an impressive individual with a strong desire to drive the business forward. The role reports into the Director of Government Affairs and is responsible for maintaining strong government relations and stakeholder relationships with national policy makers.

To achieve success it is critical that the Government Affairs Manager:

  • Works collaboratively across the organisation, both internally and externally, particularly across brand teams, and NHS England, Department of Health and Westminster

  • Takes a leadership role in relevant franchises to support the development of annual and LRP strategies to support the business

  • Uses thorough understanding of the external environment to help brand developmentand assess the commercial impact of external threats

  • Is credible and influential when working with high level decision makers in ABPI, NHSE, parliament and with policy stakeholders such as patient organisations

  • Ensures policy activity meets the specific needs of, and is based on customer agendas

  • Has a deep understanding of the NHS and its policy levers and a network of contacts in national policy and commissioning
